Based in Cuba, Jorge Cebrian aka Åre:gone is a young producer set to make a mark on global territory. Diverse and passionate, he explores a variety of different genres and styles with a desire to learn and grow. His Åre:gone alias is focused more on the darker side of techno and his Human Incommunication EP provides three shining examples of this with two stellar remixes.

Track one ‘This is What Happens’ starts off with a solid rolling groove and sparkling percussion. As it progresses, the energy continues to rise with haunting, spacious vocals providing the backdrop. Thereafter, title track ‘Human Incommunication’ goes full throttle with a thick, rumbling kick, undulating bass and frenetic synths – a perfect addition to any peak-time journey. Stepping in to remix is Simplecoding boss Juan Trujillo. Opting for a more stripped and rough character, his version remains equally hard-hitting with a prominent kick and strong percussion throughout. The final original release of the EP comes in the form of ‘Eintauchen’. Remaining dark in character, this track keeps sounds simple and effective with a rolling bass-line, slow-panning percussion and pitch-shifted vocal ad-libs. Given this, it is clear why Folker Zwart was the perfect candidate for a remix. With releases on the likes of Sleaze and Alex Bau’s Credo, he gives a typically bass-heavy, chugging rendition of the original. Stripping down the percussive elements, he instead focuses on a big kick and haunting mid-range soundscapes and stabs.
