Centered solely around two pieces of analog gear in the form of Roland’s TR-8 and System1, D_Know used these limitations to create three tracks all recorded in single takes. A first for his production process, the tracks take on a different quality and provide a unique representation of his style. To close out the release D_Know invites Reckless Device (aka Brian F) to put a spin on ‘Analog Take I’. A South African-born artist now residing in London, he has released on labels such as !Organism and trau-ma and now adds Knowledge Recordings to his repertoire.

Opening track ‘Analog Take I’ guides the listener in with a beat-less Detroit-inspired synth intro that eventually evolves into a full-blown, fast paced groover. ‘Analog Take II’ keeps the tempo high but provides more aggressive synth work with a running arpeggio and frenetic percussion. ‘Analog Take III’ on the other hand builds around a repetitive synth sequence and haunting pads that ebb and flow as percussion elements emerge and disappear. Finally, Reckless Device does two versions of ‘Analog Take I’. Both versions take the original into a darker, more stripped down place (Remix 1 with a pad melody, Remix 2 without).
