about

Knowledge Recordings welcomes back Serbian producer Rèdacs for yet another release on the label. After his well-received Displacement EP in November 2017, he now presents two fantastic originals that showcase his skill and maturity as an upcoming artist. In addition, young Dutch artist Najel Monteiro steps in to provide a remix with his own signature touch.

Opening track ‘Dead Echoplex’ begins with a clean but thumping kick and bass groove. Sparkling percussion and precise hi-hats run throughout, whilst a haunting pad soundscape comes to the fore as the track progresses. Simple and effective, this track shows a great development in Rèdacs’ sound and makes for a perfect DJ tool in any techno set. The second track of the release ‘Dead Cloud’ opens in a similar way: warm kick and bass with crisp percussion. However, this track takes a more cerebral approach with an arrangement that slowly and patiently unravels. Dark synth sounds and haunting pads ebb and flow as the track progresses through its break and eventually to its outro. Finally, Induxtriall Records alum Najel Monteiro provides a remix of ‘Dead Cloud’. Inspired by classic sounds of techno, his remix is built around a thumping kick, vintage-style hats and an analogue sounding synth sequence.
