“I came across Serbian artist Rèdacs by complete chance whilst scrolling through Soundcloud. There wasn’t much on his page, but something told me to take a listen to what was there. Immediately I was blown away by his keen sense for quality techno. Ranging from ambient to hypnotic and aggressive moods, I asked him to send me some more material, and now I present to you his ‘Displacement EP’ for this seventh release on my label!” – D_Know

The first track ‘Off’ is a warm, ambient track perfect for opening or closing any set. With thick sub-bass and spacey textures it sets the scene perfectly for the rest of the EP. Next is title-track ‘Displacement’, a peak-time loopy piece with similarly big low-end and subtle use of cerebral sounds and textures. Clocking in at 133bpm, it pushes the pace whilst still maintaining a solid groove and a minimal nature. Thereafter, D_Know presents his version of ‘Placement’. While the original is hard-edged and off-kilter this remix opts for a more hypnotic and spacey rendition that builds tension throughout the arrangement. The original, as mentioned, packs a punch with distorted kicks and aggressive synth-work, as does the remix that follows by Berlin-based producer Ashes. Starting with a similarly off-beat drum rhythm the track eventually takes an unexpected turn as it goes full throttle into a devastating four-to-the-floor pattern – not for the faint hearted!
